1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Local storage is a similar mechanism built into your browser. Both let a site remember information between pages and visits.

2. What we use

Essential. These keep you signed in, protect your session, remember your cookie choice and let member features work. The Platform cannot operate without them, so they are set whether or not you accept other cookies. They include the authentication session token and the record of your cookie preference.

Preferences. These remember choices you make on the site, such as recent searches in the member area, so the Platform feels the same when you return. They are stored on your device and are not used to track you across other sites.

Usage measurement. To understand how the Platform is used and to improve it, we record product events such as pages and lessons viewed, searches, posts created and features used. This measurement is first-party: it is recorded by our own systems against your account when you are signed in, and it is not shared with advertising networks. You can decline non-essential measurement through the cookie choice bar or on the Account page under Privacy.

Payment. When you start checkout you move to our payment processor, which sets its own cookies to prevent fraud and complete the payment. Those cookies are governed by the processor's policy.

3. What we do not use

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking or any third-party tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share information for targeted advertising.

4. Your choices

When you first visit we ask you to choose between Essential only and Accept all. You can change that choice at any time on the Account page under Privacy, or by clearing the site's cookies in your browser, which will show the choice bar again. You can also block cookies in your browser settings, though signing in and member features will then not work.

5. Changes

We will post any changes here with a new "Last updated" date.
